A picture of magnificence and splendour, this grand waterfront resort has a line of condominium and luxury houses located nearby that also take advantage of the marina development. The Admiral Marina and Leisure Club that adjoins the resort is a picture of peace, tranquility and pure joy for those that love yachts and the gorgeous blue sea. The all-suite hotel holds two wings within its vicinity, namely the View Wing (the old wing) and the Vista Wing (the new wing).
The whole architecture showcases our country’s colonial heritage at its best, with contemporary and Balinese flavors thrown in here and there. In all there are 156 rooms in View Wing, where there are two types of rooms available, the first being the Superior View room that gives you a view of the gorgeous garden, or the Straits View room that provides you with a stunning sea view (especially during sunset and sunrise).
The Vista Wing was recently opened, and there are three types of rooms available in this wing, namely the Deluxe Room, the Premium Room and the Executive Studio. I managed to book the Executive Studio on the highest floor of the hotel, something that I accomplished on purpose in order to get the best sea and marina view from the comfort of my room. And trust me when I say that I wasn’t disappointed! The checking in process ended with me being given a welcome drink at the hotel’s bar, a decent one called the Sailor’s Drink Shop that was a little hard to find at first. This open-concept pub is located right next to the stunning marina, and is open till midnight.
The room itself was tastefully furnished, and was exceptionally luxurious to stay in. The air-conditioner was powerful enough to cater for the spacious room, and the new LCD television certainly kept me smiling! The king-sized bed and mattress allowed me to have an uninterrupted sleep at night, and proved to be highly comfortable. There was also a functional safe deposit box, a mini bar and a spacious coffee/tea making facilities, making my stay one that was a lot more comfortable. The extra-large bathroom was also brilliantly furnished with a rain-shower and modern fittings, and proved to be one of the highlights of my stay.
Frankly breakfast wasn’t too great, and the hotel could do with some improvements with the variety of food and beverages that was served at the Trader’s Food Shop. The restaurant is also open until 11pm, thus if you don’t feel like exploring the town of Prot Dickson at night, stay in your room and get a meal from the Trader Food Shop sent up to your room for dinner!
For those looking for activities within and around the hotel, you could make use of the swimming pool, the tennis court or the gym that is placed within the vicinity of the hotel. The swimming pool is more for kids if you ask me, Or head out to the beach that is situated right next to the hotel and take part in a myriad of beach activities such as jet-skiing, swimming or simply take stunning pictures of the sunset and sunrise!
If you planning to check this place out, remember that check-in time is at two in the afternoon, while check-out is at noon the next day. The rates of the room vary from RM180.00 to RM300.00 on normal weekdays, and increase slightly during weekends and public holidays.
